Warehouse Personnel
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Receiving and Processing Shipments: Unload delivery vehicles, inspect incoming goods for damage or discrepancies, and verify contents against purchase orders or shipping documents.
- Inventory Management: Sort, organize, and store items in designated locations. Use inventory software or handheld scanners to maintain accurate stock records and conduct regular cycle counts or physical audits.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment or pickup according to schedule. This often involves labeling and securely packaging items to prevent damage during transit.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move and stack materials.
- Workplace Safety and Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, free of hazards. Follow all safety rules and report any issues or damaged equipment to a supervisor promptly.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and communicate any issues or delays in workflow.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, squat, and lift heavy objects (typically up to 50 lbs, sometimes more) on a regular basis.
- Organizational & Time Management Skills: Strong ability to manage varied responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in identifying products, counting inventory, and preparing orders to minimize errors.
- Basic Computer/Math Skills: Familiarity with inventory software, databases, or WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and basic arithmetic for counting and recording stock.
- Certifications (Preferred): Prior experience in a warehouse setting is a plus, and a valid forklift operator certification may be required for certain roles
